How to be Saved

 

God Loves Us So Much That He Has Provided

A Way For Us To Be Saved

 

 

Everyone is a sinner, either by willful disobedience or by ignoring God's will. No matter how hard we try to live a moral or sinless life, we cannot save ourselves. 

 

How To Be Saved

 

1. Admit:      (Admit you are a sinner.)  "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God". (Romans 3:23)  Sin is choosing to disobey God. "For the wages for sin is death" (Romans 6:23)  There is a penalty for our sin. It is eternal separation from God. Hell

2. Repent:    (Turn from your sin and turn to God.)  Repentance is choosing to quit sinning and to start obeying God. Repentance does not take care of the penalty for our sin though. Jesus has done that for us by dying on the cross for us. He paid a dept He did not owe, therefore His payment can be substituted for our dept. No one else can pay our dept. Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh to the Father, but by me." (John 14:6)

3. Believe:    (Believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He paid the penalty of your sin by dying on the cross.) John 3:16-21

16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.
19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.
20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.
21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."

4. Receive:   (Through prayer ask Jesus to forgive you of your sin and to come into your life as Lord and Savior.) Rev. 3:20 

20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.

What To Pray

Dear God,  I am a sinner, and am in need of your forgiveness. I turn from my sin and turn to You, believing that Jesus died on the cross for my sin and rose again on the third day. I put my trust in You to save me, and invite You to come into my life as Lord and Savior.

 

What to do next in your new life of following Jesus 

1. Read the bible: Spend time daily reading Gods Word.

2. Pray:  Start out by determining how much time to spend daily talking with God. 

3. Go to church:  Find a bible believing church where Jesus is preached as Lord and Savior.

4. Be a doer of God's Word:  Be baptized, go to church, worship, serve, tell others about Christ, ...etc.   You do your best and He will do the rest.
